Earlier this year Pantone revealed their 2016 Colour of the Year – and for the first time it was a blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity.

“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”

As seen in previous years, blush or light pink and light blue works beautifully in wedding décor, and can be easily combined with pure white and/or gold. So to combine the two shades together in soft pastel hues results in a romantic wedding colour palette that we have fallen in love with.

For your wedding ceremony, why not use traditional white as a base colour, and add subtle hints of Rose Quartz and Serenity by using flowers in these colour shades in your wedding bouquets and bridesmaids dresses – the soft palette works beautifully if you are thinking of having your bridesmaids wear different shades of either pink or blue.

For your wedding reception, this colour trend can be incorporated into the flower and vase centerpieces on your tables, with some giant coloured balloons, pink welcome drinks, and look absolutely incredible when used in wedding cakes, macaroons or a candy buffet table.

Here is some wedding inspiration on how to use Rose Quartz and Serenity as your wedding’s theme colours…
