We are excited and privileged to share Ryan & Shannon’s beautiful, quirky and fun wedding pictures with you. They got married in August last year at the beautiful Memoire, in Muldersdrift, Gauteng.

They chose to have a mid-morning ceremony and a lunchtime wedding reception so that they could really enjoy the whole day with their family and friends.

Andre, from Blackframe Photography, had some fun with this creative couple, and captured their day perfectly…

How did your husband pop the question?

On our 2 year anniversary, we went to visit some friends in our favourite spot in Clarens. He took me for a picnic to celebrate our anniversary (after assuring me numerous times in the past week that this was not a proposal weekend!!) and just as the sun went down behind the Lesotho mountains he got on one knee and asked if I’d marry him! I was completely overwhelmed and just sobbed!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding day?

We wanted our day to be different but really elegant – so we opted for a late morning ceremony (so I didn’t have to wait all day to say I do!) and a lunch time reception so we could really enjoy the day with our family and friends. Ryan is very creative so we wanted to have a bit fun too!

Tell us about your theme.

We used Duck egg blue and grey to create a soft and elegant look- we brought the blue in through our stationary and used soft grey ribbon to “wrap” the Posey’s on the tables.

Tell us about your dress.

I had originally bought a Rosa Clara dress which I thought was perfect, but I decided to go have a look at Pronovias as it had just opened and everyone was talking about it… lo and behold I found “The One!” – topped off by a cathedral veil it was really the dress of my dreams.

What were your feelings on the day and how do you feel it went? In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differently?

I felt so overwhelmed by all the emotions on the day, but in such a good way- everything went off without a hitch and it left me free to relax and enjoy the moments. If I had to do anything differently, I probably would have tried to pause and take in the detail of the day more- everything went by so quickly!

What were the highlights of your wedding day?

Standing at the top of the aisle with my dad and seeing Ryan at the end waiting for me – what an amazing feeling and definitely the highlight for me! Getting into my dress was also such a special moment as I got 20 minutes (that lacing up just takes forever!) just to soak in the fact that I was about to become a Mrs. And, lastly, the photo session with Andre from BlackFrame was SO much fun- and we have amazing photo’s to show for it.

Any advice to other brides/grooms?

My advice is to try as often as possible on your day to take moments to appreciate what is going on around you- having all your friends and both your families together supporting the start of your new life is something you want to remember forever!
