Today I am priviledged to share with you the wedding of Lauren and Justin, which took place at the absolutely beautiful Mosaic Farm on the Hermanus Lagoon win the Western Cape.

Mosaic Farm is the perfect wedding venue for any couple who love to be close to nature! And this was the reason Lauren and Justin chose to have their wedding there. The wedding venue is surrounded by fynbos gardens, ancient milkwood groves, picture-perfect sunrises and sunsets over the lagoon, and the majestic Overberg Mountains – a truly magical spot in the middle of nature!

I will let these incredible photo’s tell the rest of this wedding story…

I asked Lauren some questions about her special day…

How did Justin pop the question?
Justin was supposed to be going to India for work – I had seen itinerary, visa in passpost etc. But, unbeknownst to me the trip got cancelled and Justin decided it was the perfect opportunity to surprise me and pop the question. So, as far as I knew on the Friday morning, he was flying off to India. Actually, he was in cahoots with my best friend Hillary who suggested sundowners on top of table mountain. Hillary and I arrive on top of table mountain, and Justin popped out from behind a rock, got down on one knee with ring in hand, very romantic. Needless to say, I was VERY surprised and of course said YES!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding day?
We love the outdoors, and wanted the day to reflect us – trees, mountains, nature etc.

Was there a theme to your wedding?
No real theme, but we wanted fynbos and proteas for the flowers and a rustic/relaxed feel to the day. We also loved the lagoon and mountain view from Mosaic, very romantic.

Tell me about your dress.
A white strapless dress with lots of diamante beading, there was also a train which I think distinguished it between an evening gown and a wedding dress. I hired my dress from Robyn Roberts, when I tried it on, it was as if it was made for me. I LOVED the bling on the dress!

What were your feelings on the day and how do you feel it went? In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differently?
The day was one of the best in our lives. We had a small intimate wedding (75 people). We also had a “bring and braai” on the Friday night at the Mosaic Lagoon Lodge so Justin and I could spend quality time with our family and friends prior to the wedding day.  So, on the wedding day we could just focus on each other, it felt as if we were in our own little “love bubble”.

What were the highlights of your wedding day?
The vows, Justin’s speech and seeing everyone having such fun.

Any advice to future brides and grooms?
When your friends offer to help, accept it, and actually let them help you. Don’t stress the small stuff.
