While a Summer wedding in Gauteng can be a gamble when it comes to the afternoon downpours, on one lucky mid-January evening there wasn’t a drop of rain in sight. The Event Affairs team headed to Lanseria, just outside of Johannesburg for Misty and Alan’s big day. White Light is absolutely charming with its modern twist to your typical countryside manor. The perfectly manicured lawn welcomed guests as they entered the picturesque Tuscan-like open chapel. It was simply breathtaking. The natural greenery cascaded the existing arch at the front of the chapel and as Misty made an appearance, everyone was blown away by her beauty!
After the wedding ceremony, guests were cooled down with refreshing G&Ts, Pimms and bubbly (of course!) Acoustic guitarist, Gerry Liberty, serenaded the crowd and created a very chilled atmosphere as guests enjoyed the abundance of delicious snacks prepared by the venue’s chef. To follow the bridal couple’s vision of an unpretentious and relaxed, yet elegant, setting we combined a variety of textures, wood and metallics. The Rose Gold Xavier chairs placed around the wooden cafe tables, and pallet day beds placed strategically on the lawn created the perfect match.
We switched things up a bit with the reception venue – from a relaxed pre-dinner style to something more soft and romantic, with hints of rose gold and blush. We suspended geometric light features with greenery from the ceiling to add to the overall romantic atmosphere. The overall look and feel was simply stunning and truly romantic. The evening flowed perfectly (and so did the wine), with the most heartfelt speeches and toasts, incredible gourmet food served and top notch service. Once all the formalities were done, guests were itching to get onto the dance floor after the most spectacular first dance we’ve ever since.
While there was a bit of rain during the afternoon, mother nature declined her invitation to the wedding. The weather was perfect, the bride was breath-taking, the couple was simply magic and their big day was a huge success. Thank you to our suppliers for all your hard work. And a special thanks to Misty and Alan for making our jobs an absolute pleasure. Wishing them many happy, healthy years together!
